CATTLE DECAPITATION – interview with Travis and Josh

L-to-R: Mike, Troy, Travis, Josh
One of the more exciting death metal-acts to burst on the scene in recent years is CATTLE DECAPITATION from San Diego, California. They approach the craft of deathly and gory metal with a different twist that makes them stand out in a scene otherwise drowning in copycats.

They currently hold a deal with Metal Blade Records and on their conscience so far are four full-length albums, including the latest gory offering "Karma.Bloody.Karma", along with several more obscure releases such as a bunch of seven inch EPs and contributions on various compilations.

When the four-piece descended on Copenhagen, Denmark, along with fellow heavy-hitters DYING FETUS and SKINLESS we (Daniel Löfquist and Fredrik Andersson) just couldn't stay away.

DEKAPITATOR - Interview with Matt Harvey

Keep your distance from these dekapitators boys and girls
Eighties thrash metal is back! No doubt about that. It has struck upon us once again with might, force and beer stained patches, whether we like it or not. Personally I must say it’s been quite a surprise really when it comes to the high quality of this pushing horde of thrashing newcomers.

One of many in the second wave of good old thrash metal are DEKAPITATOR from the Bay Area, who may be a newcomer for the masses – but the truth is they’ve been around for quite some time now. It’s just that it has taken a good eight years to follow up their debut album, “We Will Destroy… You Will Obey” (Blackmetal.com).

With a follow-up, now after all these years, I had to get a few questions answered. The best person to turn to was of course long time metal head and main man Matt Harvey.

Interview with EXODUS's Gary Holt

EXODUS anno 2007
You all know what it's about, METALLICA made it big by doing boring rock songs while EXODUS has kept on going aswell, but still doing the sharpedged aggression that we like: thrash metal!

EXODUS has a new album out and a forthcoming world tour. Mr Riffmeister of thrash metal; Gary Holt answers some questions. Here we go:

You have a new album out soon on Nuclear blast. Tell me a little bit about it.
It's called "The atrocity exhibition" and it is the band´s proudest work, I mean we're really excited about this one!

CONCEPT OF GOD - Interview with Steve Moseley

CONCEPT OF GOD, a doom metal-band that has a few current and one former member from the more well known SOLITUDE AETURNUS. Of course it might be easy to assume it’s gonna sound a bit familiar in comparison, especially when it’s the same vocalist in both bands.

But I can assure you there’s a bit more to it and Steve Moseley, guitarist and one of the main characters of SOLITUDE AETURNUS, calls me up on a nice and quiet saturday from his residence located in Arlington, just outside Dallas, Texas. Just to square away some questions I have regarding his project. A project that has finally been able to release the basically finished material which has been packed down for the last seven years.

TESTAMENT - Interview with Eric Peterson

L-R: Paul Bostaph, Alex Skolnick, Chuck Billy, Greg Christian and Eric Peterson
Nine years! That’s how long it’s been since we last saw a brand new studio album from one of the most important bands within the thrash metal scene. The expectations are so to say "pretty high".

One who doesn’t sound too excited at the moment is guitarist Eric Peterson when he calls me up from Nuclear Blast's headquarters in Germany. The reason why he’s tired is of course because of the busy weekend, doing interviews and all. But also because of the nice hang over he’s been dragging with all day, which is a result of the beer chugging evening earlier together with some folks out of the Nuclear Blast crew.
